About

Growing up in a family that wasn’t all too fond of flying, I never really had the urge to travel outside of our annual road trip from New York to Florida. In 2010, my parents all but forced me to participate in a volunteer trip. The only problem; it was in Tijuana, Mexico. Not only did I (and still don’t all that well) speak Spanish, but I would have to get on a plane to get there and as far as I knew, I was afraid of flying. Needless to say, I made it there and back in one piece. I didn’t come down with a case of Montezuma’s Revenge (at least not the first time) but I did come down with the travel bug, and I’ve been unable to shake it ever since.

Fast forward to November 2019; I’m telling my Uber drive about some of the places I’ve been in the past few months and sharing some travel tips. She suggested… “You should start a website based around travel.” I told her I’d have one by the new year, and that’s how this whole thing started.

but why

My goal for TOTLTRVL (Total Travel) isn’t to flaunt my travels. Instead, it’s to share travel tips, provide recommendations, and ultimately simplify the travel experience for those who are in a new city every weekend, haven’t left their neighborhood in a decade, and all those in between. It’s intended to be a light (and short) read, covers the essentials (food, drink, activities and transportation) quickly and gives you just enough ideas to where you’re able to develop you’re own itinerary to cater to your own interests. I want all of this to be delivered to you in on one un-intimidating, streamlined, and (hopefully) humorous package.

Keep in mind that this isn’t my full time job, I have a 9-5 (9-6:30-7:00 really) and try to maintain this in my spare time so if I’m a little late to the party on some news or events, please forgive me. Now enough reading this. Get out there and start planning your next vacation. But remember; travel safe, travel smart, travel. Simplified.
